The music that inspired I Have People
Music always inspires me and makes my imagination soar.
I have a disc of favorite singles I've downloaded from iTunes in my car. Whenever my hubby and I go on a car trip, we listen to it over and over. Somehow, my hubby endures it!
Every single song on my disc goes along with one of my books—in my mind, that is. As we listen to the songs, I often say, this song goes with . . . Sierra. Or this song goes with Lancaster House. My hubby now knows which songs go with each book. I’m pretty sure he could recite them in his sleep! What a trooper!

I’m never sure if anyone else will understand the connection of a certain song with a certain book. I often feel the connection is only in my mind. Regardless, I love to share what song goes with which scene in my books. While writing I always picture the scene in my head, like a movie playing in my mind--and my favorite songs become the background music. Music helps me to visualize a scene.
If you've already read I Have People, maybe you’ll feel the connection to the below songs!
When I picture Holly observing Gabriel from afar, I think of this song:

I have certain songs or artists that bring up characters and scenes for specific books too. When I listen to that music, it helps me get in the zone for those characters. Kind of weird. I will have to return to this post once I read this new book of yours. I've loved how you've promoted this one. It's been so fun--like a mini tour of introduction.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charissa. All of these posts were written for an 'I Have People' book tour, but I decided to post them here on my blog to reach a wider audience. I'm glad you've enjoyed them. I LOVE your reviews of For Nick and Sierra. Thank you so much. I appreciate your comments here on my blog as well. Thanks for your friendship!
DeleteI enjoy your friendship too. It's fun to feel a bond even though we've never even met. I love your books and am your loyal fan and friend for life!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charissa. I really enjoyed your books as well and look forward to book three with great anticipation. I feel like we have a lot in common. If we lived close, I bet we'd hit it off in person!! But, I'm so glad to have you as an 'online friend' and an 'author friend.' So nice to have that connection!
