THE WEEKEND

When I say weekend, what I really mean is the last two weeks!
You probably noticed, I didn't even get a 'weekend' post up last week. That's because I spent the last two weeks taking care of my daughter and my newest grandson.

Gavin Michael

Above is a picture of me meeting my new grandson for the first time--a memorable moment.

That's two new grandsons for me in the year 2013 and I couldn't ask for anything more!

I was able to get a little work done here and there. (The best way to work is with a newborn baby on your lap!)

But, mostly two a.m. looked a little like this . . .

The little cutie had his days and nights confused!

However, all is well with both baby and mommy, and we couldn't be happier.

On the way home, we visited my son at college. (One more child to get through college and we're DONE! Yay!)

Now I'm home and playing catch-up with everything.

Book news: On Oct.1st the winner of the Kindle Book Review's Best Indie Book of 2013 will be announced. Sierra made it as a top five finalist in the Romance category! So excited!

  1. What great pictures! How fun that you were able to spend so much time with him (and, of course, your children, too).

Hopefully, the news on Oct. 1 will be Sierra for the win!

    1. Hi Melanie! Yes, it was great to have so much time with my grandson, as well as my daughter--and my son too. The downside: Now I'm missing them all so much!
It would be wonderful if Sierra won, but I'm so thrilled just to be a finalist. So exciting!
      Thanks for your comment!

  2. I love looking at that little angel. So glad you got to spend 2 weeks with your daughter and her new little one. I look forward to that someday with my own kids.

    1. I love it, it's the best two weeks! You have much to look forward to! We had many nights where we went to bed at 4 a.m., and that was hard, but I was glad to be there and let my daughter get some sleep! I'm missing them something fierce right now!

  3. He's so precious and tiny! I love that picture of you on your laptop. You should see it when I try to do anything with my dog on my lap! He makes my laptop into a chesttop! Even my cats take up more room on my lap than Gavin :) You have such cute kids and grandkids :)

    1. Thank you so much, Christy! I LOVED holding Gavin on my lap as I worked--and now my arms feel so empty. Boppy pillows are the best invention ever! Gavin would rest comfortably and my arms were free to type--albeit slowly. Can't imagine having a dog or cats on my lap as I worked! It would be even harder!
      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Aaw:) He's so sweet. I love that he's all bright eyed and big guy is snoozing.
You have a beautiful family, Taylor and are most blessed.
Now it's back to work, chop..chop!!!
Crossing my fingers for Sierra. It's one of your best.

    1. Chop, chop is right! Time to get busy on my newest novel once again. I've been reading it over today and the break has been good for me. It helps me to see the novel through fresh eyes.

Thanks for your sweet words. I'm so thankful for my family.

Sierra, as you know, is my personal favorite. So thrilled just to be in the finals! But . . . winning would be amazing!

Thanks, Laura! Always love your comments!

  5. Gavin looks like a sweetie. He appears to be bright eyed and chipper. My son used to love lying on his daddy's chest to sleep. Many congrats on Sierra!! Got my fingers crossed for you. Of course, you know I LOVE the book. Looking forward to what comes next. ^_^

    1. There's nothing like having a newborn baby sleep on your chest. Such a sweet experience--and so sweet to see them asleep on their Dad's chest too.
Thanks for your thoughts on Sierra. I admit, my hopes are up, yet as cliche as it sounds, I really am thankful just to have made the finals! It gives me a lot more confidence. And special thanks to you, Sherry--you've given me so much confidence also. I appreciate your support so much! Love you!
