On Mother's Day I woke up to this beautiful comment from a reader about I'm With You:
Finished reading your beautiful book, I'M With You. My prayers go out to your daughter and her husband and to the rest of the family for the loss of Jerad. Thank you for letting us share your daughters story about her precious baby boy.
It seemed so very appropriate for Mother's Day--and it made my day a special one.

This week is the official Cover Reveal for the new covers for Lancaster House and The Middle Aisle!
One of my daughters admitted to me tonight that she still LOVES my old covers. That makes me happy, but I absolutely LOVE the new covers.

With how much I love the new covers for Lancaster House and The Middle Aisle, we've officially decided to give all of my covers a makeover. If you follow my blog, you know I've agonized over this decision. I love the illustrated covers I chose in the beginning, but I feel they don't reflect what's on the inside of the books.
So . . . here's what we've chosen for the new cover of Sierra.
Yes, I'm going to go ahead and reveal it now!
(It won't be up for awhile. It has to go off to the ebook formatter first--and we may still make a few changes here and there. It's a work in progress.)
But, I'd like to know what you think? Do you like it?
I like the way the backs all go together with the same colors. The new cover for Sierra looks really good. I'm on the list to do your new cover reveal for Lancaster House...so that is keeping me very excited as I wait for the 15th to get here.

Still not getting email notices from your blog but fixed that. Now have a sticky note on my computer to remember to come over. I'm noticing I've not seen several others blogs either. Wonder if they are having problems like you and Sherry.
Ha! The sticky note method always works! Thanks, Laura. We found out that the problem is with the site that does the email notifications, "feed burner." We also found out that numerous blogs are currently having this problem. I may resort to a paid notification system if it does not resolve itself soon.

Taylor, you know how much I loved Sierra and I like the new cover, but... I still love the original one the best. The cabin just sets it off for me. I like the new one but LOVE the original. I hope you don't mind me being honest about what I like. But I do have to say what I like. I liked the older covers of the Lancaster Series too. The new one are really beautiful but the old will always be in my heart. :) I think all the covers you have used are perfect... I know people will love the new ones though so that is what will count in the long run and I always wish you the best in all you do. The review of I'm With You was very beautiful. It was a truly wonderful book and that reviewer really hit it right on.. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I greatly appreciate your honesty. I love the old covers too, and it makes me really, really happy to know that you love the old covers. The decision to use new covers is based more on the ability to sale more than anything. I don't think the old covers attract people to my books. But I still appreciate your thoughts on the matter!

Just so you know, I do like the new covers too. I just thought the old ones were you. They always reminded me of your one of a kind work. But the new ones are really beautiful too. The only thing that bothered me about the new Lancaster House books was the eye makeup on the girl. I would not have pictured her with that, but they are awesome and I think your reason is the right one. More sales help you and that is the important thing.
DeleteI loved I'm With You so much. I don't think I have ever read a book that made me cry as hard as that one did and still loved the love story parts too. Got a little nervous when the exes came back into each of their lives. But figured true love had to win out in the end. And of course it did. I love that you will have the big strong handsome men show emotion too. That makes it much better. It shows that they do have feelings and are not afraid to show it. Love and hugs to you dear lady. Hi Linda! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. Crazy busy weekend and now we're out of town!! I love your thoughts on this matter. The first time my daughter saw the image I had chosen for LH, she said, "She sure has a lot of make-up on!" So I do know what you mean!! But it was still my favorite image for Zoe! As a matter of fact, I couldn't find anything that pictured her better than the ones I chose. Cover images are so tough! But I'm glad you like both the old and the new. And I love hearing your thoughts on I'm With You as well. It's still a surreal feeling to hear someone else discuss your own book. But I LOVE it! Thanks for everything! I always, always appreciate and love your comments! You have been a huge support to me and I appreciate you greatly!
