MONDAY MUSINGS: TO LOVE ANOTHER PERSON

This quote, from Les Miserable, inspired me while writing
GIRL OF MINE.
So much so, that I quoted it at the beginning of the book.

GIRL OF MINE is about sacrifice and love.
It's about being truly selfless.

Please enjoy this excerpt from Les Miserables, in which the above quote is highlighted.

My newest book, GIRL OF MINE, coming your way very soon.

  1. Though Les Miz is not a comedy, we really amused ourselves with it being a total musical lol. I loved the Liam Niessen version though. This version was good but I just can't handle it being a musical. I mean if it were half and half maybe.....Still can't wait for your book!

    1. We've seen the stage play (musical) several times, so we were really excited to see it made into a movie. It was the quality of the singing that made us laugh--and dissapointed us as well. Anne Hathaway was amazing, but Russell Crowe was horrible. The girl who played Eponine was the best, but she'd been in the stage play and could really sing. I would've preferred people who could really sing versus the big names to play the major roles. But, we love musicals in our house, so we really loved it in spite of its faults and extreme facial close-ups.
We also LOVE the acted out version of Le Miz with Liam Neeson. It was really well done.

    1. I love that quote too. It speaks to what actually happens in the book so perfectly. Can't wait to hear what you think of it. I've started work on my new book and I'm not touching Girl of Mine until I hear back from my beta readers. Then I will complete my final edits with fresh eyes.

  3. I saw Les Miz in Toronto. It was only the second play I had ever seen. I can only guess at the wonderful story inside the cover of your book. I love the quote too. :-)

    1. I love the music in Les Miz. I can listen to it over and over on road trips--and we do. Even my kids love it. As I wrote the book, I was reminded of that quote in Les Miz. It seemed to sum up the book perfectly. Still waiting on the reaction to GOM from beta readers. I hope it's good news!! Otherwise, I'll have a lot of editing to do!
