MONDAY MUSINGS--WIN A FREE KINDLE EBOOK!

Another GIRL of MINE teaser!

And if you missed the other teasers, here they are!

Coming in May 2015!

View the book trailer here.

And . . . as promised, here are the pictures of my brand new ergonomic work station!

I love it, but I'm still getting used to it. There is definitely a learning curve involved!
I love the shape of the keyboard, but it does take some getting used to. And see that little blue ball on the new mouse? That's how I maneuver the mouse on the screen. (with my thumb!)
I love that the number keyboard is separate. It makes my reach for the mouse all that much smaller. I also love the wrist rest built into the keyboard. I'm going to add a small wrist rest for the mouse also.
I sure hope this works to help alleviate the pain in my shoulder!
I'm typically on the computer seven or more hours a day and the constant small motions were really getting to me.

Leave a comment on today's post and win a FREE kindle ebook!

  1. Yea for ergonomic work stations. I tried out my friend's at work once and found it really hard to use, but I guess if the choice was ache or figure out how to work differently, I'd get over the different factor. I hope it works and that your shoulder stops hurting. How's the book coming? I'm excited to read the final version!

    1. Right now it feels extremely awkward and I keep making mistakes as I type. I'm going to give it a chance and see if I can adapt to it. The one thing I see changing is the keyboard. I might go back to the standard type and just use wrist rests. I hope it works! Girl of Mine goes off to the ebook formatter next Tuesday and the release date will be May 25, 2015--my daughter's bday!

  2. I'm cutting back on the time I spend on the computer. I have been having neck problems.

    1. I'd cut back if I could, but it's my job! I never realized how simple small movements can affect your muscles. Something has to change or I will never be able to use my right arm and I'm right handed. My hubby says the change takes place over at least 30 days, so I hope it works. Hope your neck feels better!

    1. Thanks, Debby! I will keep everyone posted on what works best and if I have any results. My hubby says his workplace is big on ergonomic work stations--they even have a specialist who will help you with your needs! I wish I'd known about this sooner!

    1. I hope so too, Katherine! My daughter just read Girl of Mine and says it is her favorite of all of my books. I hope others think so too. I'm working on my next book already--now I just have to figure out how to type efficiently on this new keyboard!! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. It is weird looking, isn't it? I'm really having second thoughts about the keyboard. Everything else I like. But if the weird shaped keyboard helps, I'm willing to get used to it. But right now, I feel like a beginning typist!

  6. Once you get used to the new set up, you won't want to go back. My parents have an ergonomic key board (not mouse though) and it's so nice when you get used to it. I had a really hard time getting used to a normal keyboard again when I left for college.
I'm excited for Girl of Mine!! Can't wait to read it

    1. That's very encouraging, Jana. Thank you. Right now, I feel like I'm bumbling around as I type. I'll stick with it though.
I can't wait for you to read Girl of Mine! My beta readers have loved it, so I hope everyone else does too!

    1. I hope so too, Mary. Thank you. Even scrolling hurts--all the way up to my shoulder. Such a small movement. Who would've thought it could eventually cause so much pain? The new mouse doesn't help with the scrolling issue. I used my left hand and just used the up and down buttons on the keyboard today. Very frustrating, but I'll figure it out!

  8. I'm hoping the new station helps you. It looks interesting and it will probably feel like home before you know it. Hang in there.

    1. I feel like I'm learning to type again. Well, it's not really that bad--I'm just frustrated with it, hence it seems worse than it really is. Thanks for the encouragement, Sherry! Much needed today!
