MONDAY MUSINGS

ANOTHER GIRL OF MINE TEASER:

Last week's teaser: (In case you missed it!)

Coming your way in May 2015!!

ARC copies available soon!
Watch for the announcement!

Meanwhile, I'm busy with my next book:
CHASING FIREFLIES

Sometimes I'm watching TV and there's this moment where I see the inspiration for my next hero. Something speaks to me and I think, yeah, that's him.

You've probably seen the below ad. It's currently all over the TV.

Hmmmm, wouldn't he make the perfect male lead in a romance novel?
He looks great in a tux, but would look good, if not better, in jeans and a t-shirt. His longish hair, combed back on his head, gives him an "I don't care what you think of me" vibe. Maybe he's a little bit of a free spirit, yet smart and successful. A little intense, but has an easy laugh and a quirky sense of humor.

Yep, I get all that from one picture. (or ad)

That's all it took, one short ad, and I had my next hero in my head for CHASING FIREFLIES.
A little inspiration goes a long way.

If you know the story behind Lancaster House, then you know it was inspired by one singing performance.
(Adam Lambert, Mad World, Finale of American Idol)

Just one image in my head can set off my imagination.

And that's what the above image for "BLACK" did for me.

What inspires you?

Have a great Monday, everyone!

  1. I love the trailer :) I had a rough weekend. My mother in law had a heart attack and is in the hosp. She seems to be doing better now. My own mom was in the ER last night and my dad took her back now because she can't keep anything down at all. They think her new BP meds gave her an infection in her intestines. Pray for them, please!

    1. I'm so sorry, Christy. That's a lot to handle all at once, especially since you have only just recovered from your recent illness. My prayers are with you and your family. Take care.

    2. Thank you! Yes, I can feel the stress building and lack of sleep kicking in.

    3. Take a deep breath and get some sleep. I hope both your mother in law and your mother recover quickly. I'm sending lots of happy thoughts your way!

  2. Excited!!! You're so good to always be working on another book while you're marketing another. I'm in awe.

    1. It's a little overwhelming, I have to admit. Sometimes I wonder why I put so much pressure on myself. But I can't stop moving forward. After this next book, I think I'll take a break. Maybe. Haha. I don't know if I have it in me to take a break! I HATE being bored and writing books keeps me very busy. I guess I need that busyness in my life. It keeps me going.

  3. I can definitely see how Mad World can inspire you. LOL Awesome video. I don't know how you find the time to write faster than I can read. LOL

    1. I watched that video over and over while writing the book. Many details of Lancaster House were taken from that video. Even down to the way Adam initially moves his feet before he takes the walk down the stairs. I was a woman obsessed!
Well, I know I don't write as fast as you read, but I am concentrating all of my energy on writing the next book because I have DEADLINES. I'm almost done with the first draft, so I feel a little calmer about the whole thing. But much editing is in my future!!
