Sorry I've been MIA lately.
My son just left this morning to go back to college and the holidays are officially over for me!
Yeah, I know, they've been over for several days, but as long as my son was still home for Christmas vacation, it still felt like Christmas around here.
My son was able to be home for an entire month and one of my daughters was home for a week.
Back to work for me . . . and I have lots to catch up on!
Check out my totally girly new laptop set up.
(This was my Christmas present!)
I'm so excited to get to work using my brand new laptop!
What did you get for Christmas?
I'm glad you had a nice Christmas break!! :) I absolutely LOVE the photograph of you and your children! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was a small year when it came to presents from my parents, as they had to shell out a couple thousand of dollars right before Easter for my cat, Kaspar, who ended up dying the night before Easter, and then a couple more thousand right at Christmas for our cat, Bella, who thankfully came home on Christmas night!! So I'd have to say that was my best present: Bella returning home. While she's not MY cat (she's the family cat), and I don't get to see her too much (our pug doesn't get along with her, so she's secluded up in my parents' bedroom), she is still part of our family and I still love her dearly. <3
My best THING present from my parents? I'd probably have to say either my fuzzy Eeyore pajamas or my Quidditch blanket :)
From my boyfriend? Definitely the DVD of (mostly) classic Christmas cartoons, including my second favorite of all time: Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey!! He also got me a tablet!! Isn't he the greatest?!?!
Okay, this comment turned into a book....haha!! But I've definitely missed you!! <3
Missed you too, Natalie!
DeleteI'm sorry about Kaspar. Pets really do become part of our family, don't they? It's hard to understand unless you've experienced it. I'm glad Bella is okay. I'm a cat person, although I can't own one because my daughter is violently allergic.
Fuzzy Eeyore pajamas sound heavenly. (I'm obsessed with pajamas. Best thing in the world.)
And, yes, your boyfriend gets major points for nailing perfect Christmas presents! Hold on to him!
Thanks for your fantastic comment! I love it!
Kaspar was my little baby; I will always consider him my "first born," even once I have children. It's been really hard to lose him, but my other pets (including our new kitten) help me get through each day. We're not sure Bella is free and clear yet, but the vets did save her life. So now we just have to hope that she continues to get better. She has another vet appointment this Friday.
DeleteI'm sorry that you can't have a cat :( I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have at least one dog and one cat (although I never had a cat until I was twelve; my dad used to lie and say he was allergic, but he really just hated cats. Now he sleeps with Bella in the crook of his arm and is constantly talking all cute to our cats :D hehe)!!
Oh my goodness, so am I!! Pajamas are ALWAYS on my Christmas list!! I would have gotten old fashioned night gowns (I love those too :D), but my mom got her shopping done late this year with everything that happened, and they didn't have any more :( But I wouldn't have traded my Eeyore pjs anyway :D
Oh don't worry, I'm holding on to hiim for dear life :D For our four year anniversary (and it counted for our five year [which was this past May] as well because of how expensive it was) he got us a cruise :D And he had paid for my costs on the cruise we went on a few years ago with his family!! Wow, he definitely spends a lot of money on me...I need to make him something special!! <3 (if you can't tell, I don't have lots of money, but I have lots of creativity and love, which I put to use!!)
I had a "first born" cat before I had children too. When she meowed, it sounded as if she was saying "Mama." Seriously, it was a specific meow when she was looking for me. Sounds crazy, but when other people heard it, they always commented on it! I still miss her to this day!
DeleteIt is a tradition in our family for everyone to get new pajamas on Christmas Eve. I look forward every year to putting them on and wearing them all evening, all morning, and into the late afternoon, until I absolutely have to get dressed for dinner. If company wasn't coming over, I'd wear them all day!! There's something magical about Christmas pajamas!
So fun chatting with you, Natalie!
Very nice Christmas gift! I need a new laptop too! We had a nice Christmas at my parents' house. They live close, thankfully. I'm glad your kids got to be with you for more than just a weekend!
ReplyDeleteOur old laptop was ancient and soooooo slow. It was definitely time! It's my hubby's laptop too, but he let me get the rose gold color and go crazy with the accessories. I told him he can get his own laptop case for when he needs it, but he says he'll just use what I bought. Now that'll be a sight!!
DeleteSo glad you had a nice Christmas. That's wonderful that your parents live close by. I wish mine did!
