MONDAY MUSINGS

Yay! Chasing Fireflies is off to the ebook formatter!

Over the past few weeks, I've been telling you interesting China facts that I incorporated into my novel.
However, I couldn't include everything my daughter told me about her China trip. Some things just didn't fit into the parameters of the novel.

Like a movie entitled Secret.

When my daughter arrived home from China, she was really, really excited for us to watch this movie she had seen and purchased while there.

I have to admit, I wasn't very excited about watching it. But, I kept trying to be enthusiastic for my daughter's sake.

Finally, one evening my daughter very excitedly told us we were all going to sit down and watch this Chinese movie she kept going on and on about.

We all agreed and prepared ourselves to be bored out of our minds.
I think we really didn't know what to expect.

Boy, were we surprised!

I had no idea that I would LOVE it! Everyone else felt the same. We were GLUED!

The piano playing was nothing short of AMAZING!

When my daughter went to China in 2007, this was the BIG movie in China. It was as popular as Titanic was in America.

It takes a few minutes for me to get used to watching a movie with subtitles. But, once I'm into it, I forget I'm reading and become absorbed.

I highly recommend this movie. You need to watch it! It is an AMAZING movie. The ending has a twist you will NEVER  expect! And it's a sweet romance!

Enjoy!

  1. Sounds like a good one. I'll have to tell my daughter about it. She's into the Korean dramas...loves how different they are from American plots (they really throw in crazy twists that we might find corny, but that is refreshing after a while).

    1. My nephew went to Korea on his mission and he got us to watch a few Korean movies as well. They were a little slapstick in parts--and Secret has a few slapstick scenes as well. But, I agree, the plots are often refreshing and a tad innocent. I always seem to enjoy the "moral of the story" in the movies I've seen. Hope you enjoy Secret. I LOVED it!

  2. Gorgeous cover and great blurb. Laura and I have to get our act together and catch up with you. :-)

I love when something is more than it seems and rocks my world.

    1. Secret definitely rocked my world in a very unexpected way. I love when a movie--or book--does that for me. Now after all this talk about the movie, I'm dying to watch it again!
I think the only book you haven't read is Girl of Mine, right? At any rate, I will be offering ARCs of Chasing Fireflies and if you're interested, just say the word!!

    2. Oh yes. I want. I was talking to Laura about a Tag Team Event in the very near future and catching up on the books of yours we haven't reviewed. I have backed off taking a lot of review books and trying to get the backlog of my favorite authors, of which you are one, caught up. I am looking forward to another amazing story from you. Congrats!
