MONDAY MUSINGS

This has been an eventful week.

First of all, I proofed my ebook of Chasing Fireflies by reading it on my Kindle.

I'm having a few changes made, but other than a few small corrections, it passed GO and collected 200.00 dollars!

My toenail on my right foot decided to misbehave which resulted in me having a really fun procedure done.

I've had to sit around with my foot elevated just to keep it from throbbing. Not fun.

My daughter, her husband, and my grandson moved in with us for a short time as they make a change in their career path. We've had a house full of boxes as we organize and make room for them.

I know, darn. My grandson is living with me right now.

How can I resist that face?

I'm enjoying every minute and having way too much fun with him. I'm also hoping they settle right here in the same town as us.
I have a full house once again!
An empty nest and a quiet house make me sad.

And to top it all off, I turned 53 this week.

Yikes, I'm getting old.

Somehow, I made it through the week.

How was your week?

  1. Wow! You've aged well. I had no idea you were over 50. Wouldn't have guessed that. Hope your toe gets better soon. Was in an ingrown toenail. My son just had one of those procedures done and it was icky. Take care. Can't wait to post my review on your book. It's so amazing!!!

    1. Well, thank you! I remember when my mom was my age and her complaining about being old. Now I'm in the same boat! I sure don't feel like I'm 53, but I guess that's a good thing!
I'm so glad you loved Chasing Fireflies. It really gave me the courage to move forward!

  3. Very nice, Taylor. Enjoy. Happy birthday! I had a great week, the weather allowing me to get outdoors and do some work. I love it and the sun is getting hot! I even broke a bit of a sweat. LOL Felt good.

  4. Happy Birthday to you! You got a great gift...your grandson!!! I hope your toe feels better soon! Have fun with the boxes! I am looking around my house and thinking I could do with some empty boxes to get rid of some stuff! Sigh, it never ends.

    1. Thank you! We have two bedrooms stuffed with full boxes that they need to get organized and put into their storage unit. At least I can close the doors and not see the mess and it's out of the main living areas. But I'm loving having them home!!

  5. Woot woot!! Catching up on missed messages/posts!! :D
    First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!
....when did someone claim 53 as old?!
I consider like, 70 old, IF you are just a mess physically or mentally. But you can be like Betty White, who is 94, and not be old. She is NOT old! Just look at her and what she still does. So it's all in how you let yourself age. Keep that in mind!! Because you are NOT old!! :)
My past week was okay, but yesterday was a doozy...my brother's girlfriend and their son moved out. I honestly don't know if it's permanent or not. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I love the little guy, but he drives me NUTS. Then last night...it just seemed so weird to not have him around and I really miss him! Hmmm...maybe I'm changing my tune towards children, haha!
I hope you milk every moment of your time with your family living with you :) From what I have learned from you, you definitely will!
And I am so sorry about your toe/procedure! Well wishes and prayers!
    God bless!

    2. Such kind words. Thank you, Natalie. I suppose feeling old and being old are all a state of mind. In which case, I still feel like I'm 25!! But when I take care of my grandson, my body reminds be that I am indeed 53. He keeps me on my toes and keeps me active and that's a good thing! Kids are work, that's for sure, but I know what you mean when you say you miss them when they are not around. Thanks for the well wishes!
