Here's what I spent my weekend doing!
It's a t-shirt quilt for my daughter.
Over the years, we've been saving all of my children's memory-filled t-shirts. I always told my children I'd make them t-shirt quilts in my old age.
I meant when I was 80.
Evidently they think that's now.
They've let me know how excited they are to get their t-shirt quilts.
One down. Three more to go.
If I can survive this, I can survive anything.
BTW, did I mention that I'm 'sewing challenged?'
All things considered I think it turned out amazing. Especially since I don't really know what I'm doing!
How was your weekend? What did you do?
That's awesome. I have been thinking about doing that with some of my T-shirts. I have four bins under my bed. LOL I used to buy them everywhere I went but I had to stop my self. I think it turned out beautiful and I am sure she will love it. Seeing you said you are sewing challenged, maybe that means I could do it too.
ReplyDeleteSewing is not my talent! Don't look too closely at the corners, they're pretty much awful!! So yes, if I can do it, you can too! It does make for a memory-filled quilt though and my daughter is excited about it! Good luck with yours! It's worth the effort.
DeleteWhat a neat idea! I could see my daughter collecting some of her favorite shirts to make a quilt someday. She's 6 right now and my mom is teaching her how to sew :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! It's an extremely useful talent she'll have for the rest of her life. My husband's mom taught me, otherwise I would've been lost trying to make this quilt. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
