JOSHUA'S FOLLY UNOFFICIAL BOOK TRAILER

SO, here it is, the unofficial JOSHUA'S FOLLY BOOK TRAILER.

Why is it unofficial?

Because I need your opinion!!

As of right now, this is the only place I am posting this book trailer.

Why?

I NEED YOUR HELP!

Please tell me what you think of this book trailer. I chose a song that I love, but it is very, very slow, and I'm worried that the book trailer will be two minutes of BORING!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Do you like the slow pace OR do you prefer an up tempo in a book trailer?

Do you arrive on slide three and just want it to END?

I'd love to hear your opinion!

THANK YOU!

ON a side note: at least I've conquered Windows Movie Maker!

And I've had a lot of fun doing it too!

  1. First of all, congrats on making your own book trailer. That's impressive!!

I don't normally look at book trailers, so take my opinion for what it's worth, haha. I'd rather read the synopsis so I can I do it at my own pace, which is sometimes fast and sometimes slow. The music is slow but I felt that it fit with the story line and it didn't bother me. The narration held my attention as I waited to read what was coming next. If you have an upbeat tempo to compare it to, I might be able to give a better opinion, but as of now, I think it's fine. I watched it three times so that's saying something, and am really excited to read it now!

    1. Thank you so much, Melanie! Really good thoughts that help me immensely. I'm glad you like it and I'm thrilled that you watched it three times! I think I will do a lot of 'listening' to other soundtracks today and see if I can't find a more up tempo song. I LOVE the current song, I'm just worried it will put people to sleep! Thank you for your input. Much appreciated!

  2. Hi Sonja,
I never knew there were book trailers - loved it. What I liked best were the pic's of the moon, lightning, helicopter, and cowboy on horse. The one I wanted to 'see' was the photo of Josh on the wall. The empty frame yanked my ponytail. I wanted to see a blurred pic but clearly a male smiling. The music fits great, I would suggest speeding up some of the slides. Overall, it fits and makes me want to read the book...again!

    1. What I meant in the first reply was, no problem about the anonymous thing! Thanks for your thoughts, Teri. Just what I needed to hear! I like the idea of adding a blurred pic to the frame--wonderful. Glad you think the music fits. I love it so much that nothing else compares, but it is sooooo slow. Speeding up the slides just might do the trick! I'll do some experimenting! THANK YOU!

  4. I agree with anonymous Teri :). I think the music fits but some of the slides are too slow and that makes it drag. The images fit really well with the words.

    1. Thanks, Kim! I love the music more and more every time I listen to it, so I'm glad you feel it fits! I sped up the amount of time each slide is shown, so I'm hoping that gives the trailer a different feel. Thank you so much for your thoughts! I really appreciate it!

  5. Taylor,
I think it was beautiful. I loved the music but have to disagree with the speed of the video. I had a hard time reading some before it changed. I did watch it a few times and got it all and loved it. I think you can do anything you set your mind to and do it great. Now.... When will the book be ready to read. I want it so bad. :) Your friend always, Linda

    1. Hi Linda! Joshua's Folly will be released in June. Just waiting on the ebook from the ebook formatter!
I sped up each slide--and now it's too hard to read!! I guess I'll have to slow it down just a little now. Thanks so much for letting me know. It's this kind of feedback that is very helpful to me in making the book trailer. I appreciate your input very much! Glad you love the music! I do too!
      Thanks again!

    2. I just watched the sped up version and I agree that it is a bit too fast now. I almost have it memorized so it is hard to judge how long it would take to read the first time.

    3. Hi Kim and Linda! Special thanks to both of you for your help! I've changed the timing of the slides and the captions and I've re-uploaded the video. I hope it's good now. If you have a moment, let me know what you think!
      THANK YOU SO MUCH!
