My daughter is due to have a baby on June 8! Hence, we are anxiously awaiting 'the phone call,' telling us that she is in labor. As soon as we get 'the phone call,' we plan to be out the door within 24 hours, on our way to Idaho to meet our third grandson!
Sadly, 'the phone call' didn't come this weekend.
BTW, this is my daughter who does my book covers, my bookmarks, my business cards, designed my website, took my author photo, etc. etc. Without her, I'd be lost. She even taught me how to blog. Yep, she's pretty amazing. I love feeling like we are a mother-daughter team. I wouldn't be published without her!

So, besides packing and making sure everything is in order for our upcoming trip, we dabbled around the house, doing this and that, when really we're itching to be on the road!
We did a little yard work. We added a pathway and a bench to our backyard.
What a difference it made to an area where the grass had died!
I added the final touches to the book trailer for Joshua's Folly. For those of you who didn't see it, here it is!
(A special thank you to all of you who gave me your opinion concerning the trailer! Much appreciated!)

Joshua's Folly will be published very soon!
(Just waiting on the ebook from the ebook formatter!)
The setting for Joshua's Folly is right here in my home town in Texas!
As we drove around town this weekend, I saw a truck, with a man inside wearing a cowboy hat. I said to my hubby, 'Do you think it's Joshua?' I'm not sure, but I think he may have rolled his eyes at me.
At any rate, I posted the following on my Facebook page, because it's so very true!
How was your weekend?
How exciting! Congratulations and I hope she has a fast and healthy delivery.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Rhonda! I can't wait! Every day we wonder if today will be the day! We have the hardly waits! Thanks for your kind words.
DeleteCongratulations Taylor. I don't know how I missed you trailer post. Weekends are usually set aside for my hubby so I don't get much blogging done. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAlso, I nominated you for an award for spreading the sunshine in our lives. Congratulations. http://www.fundinmental.com/?p=5872
Please accept the nomination in the spirit in which it was given. Some prefer not to post awards on their blog or have already received this award. No problem! I’m simply happy to share your website with others.
THANK YOU, Sherry! I'm thrilled and honored that you've nominated my blog for the 'spreading the sunshine' award! How wonderful!
DeleteYou are very welcome and deserving. I always look forward to your posts. It's amazing what a simple change in your yard can do. I love it, right down to the puppy dog under the tree. That's funny seeing your character. Which one was it? I like the trailer. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAHA, it was Joshua. LOL Sorry, I skimmed that part. I'm bad.
DeleteNo prob, I skim all the time too!
DeleteThere's a funny story behind that dog statue . . . we had a miniature dachshund that would not potty train. He peed all over our carpet and I couldn't take it anymore. We gave him away. The family we gave him to gave us the statue to always remember him by. So, that's our family pet--and I'm happy because I don't have to take care of him or clean up after him. My kids weren't too happy about the arrangement! Of course, I got new carpet out of the event, so all's well that ends well!
Thanks, Sherry! I always look forward to your comments!
I really like the trailer! Can't wait to hear about the new baby :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like the trailer, Christy! Thank you! I'll definitely post pictures of the new baby! Still waiting. Feels like we've been waiting forever, but my daughter feels the same way and is so ready to have the baby! I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks for your comment!
DeleteSo exciting!! I hope you have fun with your daughter and new grandson. I like what you did with the trailer. Speeding up the text made a big difference. Again, I'm looking forward to reading it! Have a great time in Idaho! And I love your backyard--it looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie! I'm glad you can tell the difference between the original and the new version of the trailer. I thought the changes made a huge difference too. Thanks so much for your input. It's so helpful to hear other opinions. Glad you like the backyard too, we're enjoying the changes. I appreciate your comments! Thanks for visiting my blog!
